What a lovely breakfast. I cut the fat by a huge corporeality and used four egg whites instead of two whole eggs (1 egg has approximately 5g of fat, vs one egg white which has only well-nigh 0.2g fat). I used frozen spinach which I cooked before adding to the egg mixture. I used fresh chopped onions instead of onion pulverisation, because I had them on paw so why not? This is a very good basis for a spinach omelet, and you can easily tweak information technology to your own liking. A bang-up way to incorporate veggies into your nutrition.
Very adept omelet that'south god for you also! Instead of using onion powder I sauteed some onion and then added the spinach. I cooked that until it was wilted. I added a petty milk to the eggs earlier calculation them to the veggies and threw in a couple blood-red tomatoes cutting in one-half for a little color and flavor. I left out the nutmeg birthday. When information technology was all washed I seasoned information technology with salt, pepper, and shredded Parmesan cheese. Smashing with whole grain toast!
Beautifuly delicious! I added a bit of milk and onion to the egg mixture, and actually used shredded mozarella cheese because I didn't have anythng else. WOW! My married man loved them! For presentation, I sprinkled a bit of spinach and shredded cheese on top . I will be making these often!
Spinach omelets are one of my favorites and something I brand for myself often, slightly varying what I put in them each time. On this occasion I sauteed chopped onion in butter, added the spinach and cooked merely till wilted, added the eggs, cooked them until almost gear up, then topped with the Parmesan (just a sprinkle), some shredded Provolone and chopped tomatoes before folding the omelet over. Mushrooms likewise would be a cracking improver. I'one thousand familiar with the combination of nutmeg and spinach which is used oftentimes in Italian cooking, just I don't treat it and so chose not to utilize it. (Nonetheless, the amount called for seems similar nutmeg overkill - it's flavour should be VERY subtle) I omitted the onion pulverisation as well. I would suggest not using the full corporeality of Parmesan, at least to first, every bit 1-i/2 T. seems similar an awful lot for just two eggs. Similarly for the onion powder, which I wouldn't use at all, permit alone 1/4 teaspoon. Adept start to a great spinach omelet with some modifications.
This IS awesome....I was a lilliputian skeptical most the nutmeg, but it turned out great! I used egg beaters and also added a chopped roma tomato. Ate it with a 1/2 whole wheat bagle.....Smashing style to outset the day, thanks Holly!
I really enjoyed this recipe. Iv weeks into the south beach nutrition and the concluding affair I want is another egg, but this made breakfast very enjoyable. I especially liked the touch on of nutmeg!
Dandy! I added chopped greenish onions, a tbs or so of milk, half a roma love apple and some garlic pulverization to the mix, and subbed mozzarella for parmesan, so topped it with a piffling cheddar at the end of cooking, and folded over omelet style. It was quite good, and filling!
Excllent recipe. I also was skeptical virtually the nutmeg merely it was perfect. I used parmesan and provolone cheese and it was delicious. My whole family gobbled it up.
This is one of my favorite breakfasts. I leave out the nutmeg (not a favorite of mine in savory dishes). If I have leftover veggies from the nighttime before (mushrooms, onion, etc) I add together them sometimes. I will try the Provolone cheese, equally suggested past another reviewer soon also!
Awesome, the nutmet really does add together an interesting hint of flavor and keeps it interesting. I practice prefer the more frittata approach to the folded omelet...it tastes more fully cooked. I fabricated this with probably twice every bit much spinach, give or take, considering I love the light-green stuff. I likewise added a splash of one-half and half to the egg mixture for a little boosted fluffiness. I thought I'd rather have a gooey cheese, but the parmesan was actually only correct, as it turned out!
Baby Spinach Omelet Haiku: "Blissful eggy dish. Almost perfect every bit written. I'll brand this again!" But modest changes that I made were to lightly-saute a footling diced onion (instead of onion pulverisation) in the skillet and tossing in the spinach to barely wilt before mixing all the eggs and seasoning together. Besides, 1/8 tsp of nutmeg, while seemingly scant, really would over-power a 2 egg omelet, so I opted for a pinch. I might use 1/8 tsp. if I were making a vi+ egg quiche, but not for a small single portion omelet. My omelet didn't make an attractive "flip and fold", as much as information technology only wiggled into a crepe-like serpent, but oh wow, appearances bated, this was insanely good. I typically over-stuff my omelets w/ every veggie that I tin unearth, only this unproblematic combination of spinach/parm/onion (and that whisper of nutmeg) is across heavenly.
Wow....who knew nutmeg could be incorporated into an omelet? and it is freaking fantastic! I used egg whites only equally I had iv leftover from a staff of life baking session, and added mushrooms because to me, when yous take onions and spinach, mushrooms but Accept to exist invited to the political party :) I too used chopped onion and sauted the veggies then poured the eggs (whisked with S&P, nutmeg and a tich of milk) overtop. Cooked on the stove until the bottom was set up, so finished it under the broiler (no flipping required) - awesome breakfast and extremely low-carb using the egg whites. Thanks for the recipe! really is awesome with the nutmeg...:D
Made this recipe just every bit it has been presented and constitute information technology to be a fiddling bland. I believe that omletes are fabricated on a whim, at least mines are, using whatever ingredients are on hand simply with all egg dishes, assuring myself, that I never omit the nutmeg, and then I may offer a tip to budding chefs, unless you are absolutely sure that the ground nutmeg you are using is very fresh, then grind your own (invest in a nutmeg grinder). Nutmeg, starts to lose flavour within days of grinding, so for omlettes and sure other recipes I always use whole basics and grate directly into the dish. For cakes and some sauces where basis nutmeg is chosen for, I grind information technology very fine in my nutmeg grinder. Notation; there is a remarked divergence between grated and ground. Same goes for Parmesan, grind it from the fresh block.
Don't fright the nutmeg! It is a classic in steakhouse style creamed spinach and a natural hither. Be like Alton Brown and buy it whole and grate information technology with a microplane only when yous utilise it. Thank you HollyJune, I would not recall of rewriting your recipe, it is perfect as is. If I want to do something else, I'll submit a new recipe.
Mixed in chopped light-green onions and grated fresh Parmesan cheese. Yummy! Ladies, a nifty fashion to increase your Iron intake too. Make certain you eat with some Vit. C (due east.1000., OJ) for maximum iron assimilation.
Yum! I added some sautéed mushrooms and onions and paired it with a fruit salad. I didn't find until later that I sort of misread the directions because I shell the eggs, added seasonings (and some milk), then made the omelet traditionally with the filling in the centre. I'll endeavor information technology your way side by side time! Thank you, HollyJune, for a great recipe!
I always chuckle when I read reviews where people totally modify the recipe....lots of yummy omelets here :) I was short on veggies so I made it just every bit written. Perfectly easy and yummy.
Loved information technology!! No changes, except switched feta for parmesan cheese, and left out the salt. The pinch of nutmeg was an interesting add-on!! Great breakfast!
ane cup of is spinach is an atrocious lot for only 2 eggs and makes it hard to cook.
I have never eaten such a delicious spinach omelet as this......Wonderful and very tasty...Bravo!
I love spinach omelets but I never idea to add nutmeg can't wait to try information technology! I always add together a bit of h2o to my omelets, it fluffs them up.
A swell recipe, everything went together then perfectly. I would attempt it the original manner get-go, and then brand whatever changes you might detect necessary (I won't make whatsoever). Fifty-fifty my boyfriend, who doesn't treat spinach, gobbled his upwardly.
No excuse for not eating breakfast with this easy recipe. I fried information technology in one of those 11" flat griddle pans which is perfect. Roll information technology upwards in a low carb tortila and y'all are off and running. Actually netmeg in spincach is very Italian and wonderful. I don't know why you couldn't make up a few of these and stack them on waxed newspaper for a few days in your frig. New definition to grab and run.
Wow! I'grand glad to observe this. I would't accept ever thought to season with nutmeg, but sure glad I followed this exactly!
This is Delicious. I used fresh chopped red onion instead of onion powder. I remember it would have been proficient with tomato, and then maybe next time. I'll brand this over again!
Followed the recipe to a "T". My four yr old son, with his mouth full, said, "YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT COOK, MOM!" My iii year quondam daughter waited till her plate was cleaned and said, "That was a Yummy dinner. You are a peachy cook, Mom!" Married man loved it too. Not a seize with teeth left over anywhere. So, cheers a meg for making me a star in my dwelling house! ?
Surprised at all the rave reviews for this recipe as presented. Manner too much spinach. Next time(and there will be a side by side fourth dimension, equally this does have potential) I will use half the spinach and saute information technology quickly to wilt before calculation to eggs. Also substituted nigh a tsp. of fresh chopped scallion for the onion powder.
Glad I tried this as I was hesitant at first adding nutmeg. I was really happy I did because it was DELILCIOUS! I didn't have any spinach on hand so I used cucumber slices and it was also very tasty and had a bit of a crunch to it which I like! Thank you for sharing this recipe with All Recipes!
I never thought of putting baby spinach in eggs. I just whipped up some eggs with mozzarella cheese and a fiddling milk for breakfast today. Information technology was succulent!
Very tasty and easy to make. A bully healthy breakfast. Wasnt too sure near the nutmeg but its a good unique flavor.
First-class omelette. I used 1/2c egg whites for each omelette and followed the directions otherwise. I did sprinkle a scrap of cheddar cheese for a scrap of gooey cheese in the center. Nice brunch with a salad.
Very piece of cake and tastes so good. I'grand not a fan of nutmeg so I left information technology out. Y'all tin sub feta cheese for the parmesan. I've even added tomatoes and cherry pepper. Cracking recipe to add in your favorites.
this was really practiced! And and so easy. Information technology is a practiced jumping off identify for add-ins. I put chopped tomatoes on peak afterward I cooked the omelet.
Fabricated this today for breakfast. I made one exactly every bit written and another with chopped fresh jalapenos for some extra kick. both were great. Thank you!
I idea this tasted pretty expert. I used a well packed cup of spinach and sauteed it lightly in the pan with a tsp of vegetable oil and a minced garlic clove and then poured the ingredients over it. I added a skillful compression of salt merely no pepper. Mine definitely was non thick looking like the picture. It was more than similar a French omelet. I will more probable make this once again with some fresh spinach. TY
And then good! I wilted the spinach offset, and sprinkled Monterey Jack cheese on peak when the omelet was done, and it was wonderful!
Very nice every bit written. For serving, I added some salsa. I will keep this and brand it again. Thanks for sharing!
YuM! I love spinach! I didn't use the Parmesan cheese or the nutmeg considering I forgot the recipe at work. I did recall everything else though. I added a picayune garlic powder in with the onion powder. Beforehand, in the omelet pan I sauteed a few slices of baby Portobello mushrooms in a flake of margarine. I removed them from the pan, sprayed on a little cooking spray and began cooking the egg spinach mixture. Earlier folding the omelet, I added the mushrooms and a picayune cheddar jack cheese to the middle and then folded.
This was first-class. I used 3 egg whites, I sauteed onions, fresh baby spinach and some cut upwardly roma tomatoes, and so added the egg whites and some salt and pepper. It was extremely tasty and kept me full virtually of the day. A new good for you start to the day.
And then yummy! Only modify I made was to utilise 1 egg and 3 egg whites. Volition definitely make again!
I had never tried spinach with nutmeg and so when I found baby spinach at my grocery store (I live in a country where it is rarely available) I was excited to try this--very yummy. I must say that I skimped on the spinach because a loving cup seemed like too much just then wished I'd put more. I did wilt the spinach with some onion before mixing information technology in (no onion powder and I was afraid the spinach would non soften enough) and I did a one egg, 3 whites combination to cutting the fatty. Yummy!
I love this recipe. I've had it for a depression-carb lunch several times now! Very nutritious and tasty.
Perfect dish for the South Embankment Nutrition. Thanks!
Really yummy .... and healthy too! I added mushrooms and used diced onion instead of onion powder. I take made it (and enjoyed information technology) several times already! I used grated fresh nutmeg for the offset fourth dimension ever due to a reviewers comment.
These were so salubrious and easy. I do prefer them without the nutmeg though. Side by side fourth dimension I might try using cheddar cheese and salsa. Mushrooms would be expert in at that place, also.
Really tasty and then easy to prepare!
I omitted the nutmeg bc I didn't take any. I used a microwave omelet maker dish and it came out perfect. My 8 year old LOVED it and requested it for breakfast over again tomorrow!
I really enjoyed this recipe. I wanted to make the dish healthier and so I used 4 egg whites instead of two whole egg. I as well used feta cheese instead of parmesan.
Quick, easy, and absolutely delicious. Thanks! I did alter the recipe but a bit though. I added a picayune mozzarella, diced almost a third of a roma tomato and about an 8th of a reddish onion (but notwithstanding used simply a pinch of onion pulverization), and left out the nutmeg. To keep the omelet from being besides runny, I sauteed the tomatoes and onions separately and added them to the omelet just earlier I was ready to fold and flip it. Too, I highly recommend using a griddle. Not only is it easier to flip the omelet, simply also I have likewise found it easier to control the rut (but it might only exist that the degree settings makes more sense to me than my stove settings, 1-9). Fix the griddle to 300 degrees, toss the onion and tomatoes on one side of the griddle get-go then prep and add your egg to the griddle. The tomatoes and onions will be ready to add together to the omelet by the time you're ready to flip it. Once plated, I sprinkle stale parsley for presentation.
I love this recipe and of class, made a few mods anyway. How is the sodium content and then high? Give thanks you!
Though uncomplicated, this recipe changed my breakfasts forever! I take e'er flipped my omelets and the trick of leaving it on to cook 3 minutes a side has not simply made my omelets tastier but more attractive as well. Thanks!
I love spinach! I used 3 eggs (2 eggs plus ane whites but) added a tab of butter cooked trivial minced leeks I had every bit leftover, threw in the bag of organic babe spinach, two minor thinly sliced mushrooms. I added a roma tomato, cutting upwardly, and then put eggs in. I did non add together the nutmeg and onion powder, just table salt and black pepper. I sprinkled just a little cheese on peak and folded over to let everything set. A good manner to start off my morning with a Spinach veggie omelet!
I made it this morning for my husband and teenage male child. They loved it! Slap-up style to go your veggies in. I added tomatoes inside the omelet at the terminate. Succulent! Thanks for the recipe!
This omelet was so good, and low calorie. I wasn't sure how it would come out with the spinach, but information technology had great flavor. I will definately be making this again! I added a minor amount of precipitous cheddar inside and it was perfect!
I love this, fabricated it with 1/3 of the cheese every bit foam cheese which really complimented the mmmmmm nutmeg mmmmm.
I made this for breakfast this morning time and it was delicious and filling. I used Monterey Jack cheese in lieu of parmesan and kept everything else the same. My 2-year old even ate it and kept asking for more!
I wanted to sneak some veggies in my morning and this was suprisingly good. I fabricated mine with one whole egg and one egg white to make it slightly healthier. Although i can't speak for the nutmeg because i skipped that part. Will def brand over again!
This was a very succulent breakfast! It was so easy to make. This is something I will brand often.
Very good! I cut the recipe in one-half and added a footling garlic pulverisation and some pepper.
Just a annotation, normal parmesan cheese is NOT suitable for vegetarians.
This was . . . okay. Hardly tasted the spinach (though that might not be a bad thing to some). Piece of cake on the pepper and the nutmeg. This is a skillful idea, but non 5-star-worthy.
Tasty and piece of cake! The but recall I did differently was add a chopped greenish onion - about a tbsp. worth.
This was yummy! I followed the recipe exactly and it had tons of season. Both my husband and I loved this. Thanks!
If you lot're looking for something new this should exist it! Merely one word will do, yum!!!
Then yummy! Even my ii & 5 year olds liked it, which is quite a feat. I made this near exactly according to the recipe, but added in some roma tomato. This is ane of those swell recipes that y'all tin customize and play effectually with and make your ain. The nutmeg added a really nice flavor, I actually suggest at least trying it in one case before foregoing it.
YUMMM! Hubby fabricated for me after long mean solar day and this is succulent! Typically use caprine animal cheese but the Parmesan is very tasty.
Yum! Thanks so much for this one. Adjacent time I'll employ fresh onion and maybe add together some diced tomato. Great good for you recipe. :)
Like shooting fish in a barrel to make and very tasty.
Delish! I was wary to try because of the nutmget, merely information technology tastes cracking. Used egg whites in place of i of the eggs and added a little fleck of feta. Very yummy!!!
I never got the eggs to set up up in the pan properly.
I thought this was very proficient!! I fabricated it as the recipe stated with the exception of adding a few diced cherry tomatos to the mix, and I substituted fatty free mozzarella for the parmesan cheese. Served with a lilliputian hot sauce on the side.
This was actually just iii stars for me but I gave it 4. It simply had too much spinach in information technology for me but I wanted to be fair with my rating since if yous are a spinach lover you would probably like it.
Perfect for low carb dieters. Very easy to make and tastes great.
actually quick and simple and its a prissy light meal
This is truly a delicious and filling omelet! I was a little skeptical about the nutmeg at first since I'm not very fond of it, just it turned out to make the dish quite unique and flavorful. Withal, instead of parmesan cheese I used mozzarella since it was the but cheese I had on hand, but I feel that information technology was just as good. Thanks for the keen recipe!
I loved this. I'k eating low-carb and really needed something unlike to practise with eggs in the morning. Spinach and nutmeg go and then well together, I tin't imagine skipping the nutmeg. I but used a medium skillet and filled it with fresh regular spinach, salted & peppered, covered, and let it wilt while I vanquish the eggs with the onion pulverization, nutmeg, parmesan and a splash of water for fluffiness, then poured over the wilted spinach. This is super quick, like shooting fish in a barrel and very tasty. It will definitely exist in my regular rotation, thank you!
Wow!! This was the best omelet I have ever tasted! This was incredible! The nutmeg makes the dish; Practise Non LEAVE IT OUT! also, I cut the fat by using two egg whites instead of one egg.
I love how yous can enter "spinach omelet" into the search bar and go exactly what you're looking for. I really liked this and it was a perfect light lunch.
I but dearest this. It has become my routine weekend breakfast. Thanks then much for an amazing recipe!
This is a peachy baseline recipe. I didn't have whatever Parmesan cheese so I used feta instead. Since I used feta I subbed some garlic powder for the nutmeg and added some tomatoes to the mix. It was delicious! Thanks for such a great recipe to piece of work with.
This was skillful. I would double the spinich (I was afraid it would be also much! but I hardly tasted information technology.) I followed the recipe and at the ended added some shredded cheddar/jack cheese and it was a great addition. Side by side fourth dimension I will add a little bit of sliced jalapeno and if I'm non in a hurry will saute some frest diced onion first too.
I added an egg white to this because the spinach seemed to overpower the egg while I was mixing it. This was my first successful omelet, which earned this recipe an extra star. I'm not a fan of spinach+egg, only this is still pretty good. I can understand why people like it then much.
Dainty recipe. I like my eggs a little fluffier, so I call back side by side time I will add some milk. I didn't have onion pulverisation, but did have onion. I sauteed them to a nice gilded brown, and so added them when I poured the omelet mix into the pan. Will def. make again, but may endeavor some mushroom to give it a lilliputian more filling.
Very good! I made it equally an egg white omelet and didn't add salt, and information technology was still wonderful! I can't await to make it for my married man! Thank yous!
Thought this was a expert omelet, but called for style too much nutmeg. A pinch would practice it imo. I too decreased the amount of spinach, added a petty minced garlic and accent seasoning. Minced onion might be expert in place of powder as well?
Loved this omelet! Cracking flavor!
Yummy. A great manner to use up a piffling spinach. I added a chopped tomato, too. Loved the nutmeg!
Very expert. Didn't change a thing.
This recipe is fantastic, however I fabricated mine with eggbeaters, for a depression cholesterol meal.
Very good! May have decreased seasonings a flake and fabricated into a scramble.
Good basic recipe. Fix as is for earlier in the twenty-four hour period. Add more spices and vegetables if eating for brunch.
This was a striking in our house! I threw in some leftover chopped-upwardly craven to add an extra protein boost, and it worked very well with the spinach and Parmesan flavors. This omelet could have many variations and add together-ins and still be delicious!
I followed this recipe exactly (only substituting thawed frozen spinach for the fresh since it was all I had). It was my first fourth dimension successfully making an omelet, so I was pretty proud of myself. It came out overnice and fluffy, and not runny in the middle (which I was afraid of). My only complaint was the flavor. The addition of nutmeg seemed a little strange to me, peculiarly so much, but I went along with information technology. I wasn't overly thrilled with the flavor. The nutmeg is then overpowering in this dish, and didn't actually add a overnice flavor to this omelet. I will definitely make this again, since information technology's a great way to get more greens in your diet, but I'll leave out the nutmeg and peradventure substitute my ain spices next time.
Delicious! I made this every bit scrambled eggs instead of an omelet. I love the slight nutmeg taste... it is different but very yummy.
